COURSES AND TRAINING

Zemach E. Agriculture technologies sees great importance in enrichment of both workers and managers in the various agricultural branches. Our training department offers courses and training in a variety of topics, such as:

  • Safety for Israelis and foreign workers
  • Courses in irrigation and fertilization
  • Management courses
  • Tours and instruction in fields and groves, and more

PEST CONTROL

Zemach E. Agriculture technologies  operates a unit of pest controllers for various crops: Mango, citrus fruits, avocado, almonds, and more.

The control data are collected in S.I.G. software which enables viewing a regional picture and trends in the development of the various pests.

This work enables giving timely recommendations for treatment in coordination with the crop guide, with the aim of reducing the number of treatments.

INSTRUCTION IN FIELD SERVICE

Zemach E. Agriculture technologies complements the SHOHAM training unit, with emphasis on agronomic consulting in areas of soil, fertilization, and agricultural meteorology. For this purpose, we conduct soil surveys in plots designated for planting or plant in order to characterize the plot, diagnose factors liable to hinder development of the crops and thus harm the yield, and examine the plot’s compatibility to the various crops.

Leaf and soil tests performed in the field service lab serve as a basis for recommendations for fertilization; water tests (treated wastewater and freshwater) determine the quality of irrigation water and its suitability to crops.

EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITY

Zemach E. Agriculture technologies  sees great importance in bringing children and youth closer to Israeli agriculture.
As part of this, we support and assist the Grove Agriculture Track of Beit Yerach Regional High School, and Zemach Bereshit, the regional council’s agricultural learning farm for elementary school students. In addition, we host and guide groups of children and youth for tours of the experimental farm and in the various activities.

At the initiative of Zemach E. Agriculture technologies, and in cooperation with the regional council, we hold a regional grapefruit picking day. The fruit picked is delivered to the Leket Israel NPO, and from these is distributed to various NPOs assisting the poor.
